Honolulu, Hawaii
From Snow to The Tropics
February 2024I flew into Honolulu from Calgary, Canada leaving behind the freezing -25°C temperatures for a delightful 25°C. Stepping off the plane, the warm air instantly embraced me, a stark contrast to the chilly Canadian weather. Despite the late hour, Honolulu buzzed with energy as I jumped into an Uber and headed to my hotel, feeling tired but excited for what lay ahead.
After a restful sleep, I woke up refreshed and eager to explore Oahu. As I stepped outside, the February air was gentle and inviting, promising adventure. Walking towards Waikiki Beach, the sunny streets beckoned, hinting at the paradise awaiting me.
On the way, I couldn't resist stopping for a refreshing sugarcane drink, a taste of tropical delight. Finally reaching Waikiki Beach, I was captivated by its beauty. The soft sand stretched out before me, kissed by crystal-clear waves that danced under the sun's warm rays. Seagulls added to the scene, their calls blending with the soothing sounds of the ocean.
Taking a dip in the inviting water was invigorating, a welcome change from the snowy landscapes of Alberta. Lunch at a nearby restaurant was a treat for the senses, with delicious flavours that mirrored the vibrant surroundings.
Hoʻomaluhia, Hawaii

Each discovery filled me with excitement, reminding me of the beauty and adventure that Oahu had to offer.
