Amsterdam Unplanned: Exploring Amsterdam with a friend
November 2022Amsterdam is a well-liked tourist destination in Europe because of its famous canals, unique bike culture, and exciting nightlife. There are more canals there than Venice and more push bikes than humans.
Now it's not advisable to travel to Amsterdam from Innsbruck. But it was raining in Zurich, Switzerland where I will recommend you go after you have visited Innsbruck if weather allows it.
As you know that the rain in Zurich is not the only thing led me to the vibrant city of Amsterdam. My friend Sherry, who I've known since childhood and lives in London, also convinced me to visit this stunning city instead of my original plan to head to rainy Venice. And let me tell you, I'm so glad he did. Sherry's company made the trip all the more exciting and enjoyable. We synchronized our flights in such a way that we landed in Amsterdam at the same time. I flew from Innsbruck, Austria while he booked his flight from London. The excitement of exploring a new city with a long-time friend made the journey even more exhilarating.

When it comes to air travel, prices can vary depending on the location, season, and airline. However, compared to Australian airfare prices, Europe can be a much cheaper option. With a little bit of planning, you can snag even better deals. But it's important to keep in mind that everyone's travel preferences and budgets are different. What works for me may not work for someone else. So, make sure you do your research and plan accordingly to find the best deals and options that suit your needs.
We goofed around there
Meet my friend Sherry. This shot can qualify to be the cover of book called "Stranger in Amsterdam".
Posing for memories while hanging around aimlessly around the canals.
Just another night in the city of canals.
Sherry was teaching me how to look relaxed in the photos. Did it work?
It's a vibrant city to hang around.

Did we do all the things I have recommended? The answer is NO. You can skip a few if you like. Regardless of whatever you end up doing in this city, one thing is for sure that Amsterdam is a thriving city with a deep cultural history that is renowned for its picturesque canals, museums, and multicultural neighbourhoods. There is a vibrant environment in the city, with a bustling arts and entertainment scene, a wide selection of eateries and cafes, and numerous outdoor recreation areas. Amsterdam is a kind of destination where there is always something to see and do.
